How does Florida’s new tort reform law affect negligence injury cases?

Among other changes, this new tort reform law put Florida on a comparative negligence system. If the injured individual bringing the claim is determined to share fault for the accident or incident, they will be held liable for their percentage of fault, with compensation reduced proportionally. If found to be more than 50 percent at fault, they may not recover anything. However, this law does not apply to medical negligence. Every case is unique, so it’s wise to discuss the details of your case with an experienced personal injury attorney.
